Front Desk / Patient Coordinator (High-Volume Medical Office)

Location: In-office

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Start Date: Mid-June (sooner if available)

Pay: $21-$22/hour

Status: Full-time

About the Role

This is a fast-paced, high-traffic front desk position in a busy medical office that sees up to 80 patients per day in a small, office environment. There is no downtime-this role is ideal for someone who loves staying busy, multitasking under pressure, and making the day fly by.

If you thrive in organized chaos, can juggle multiple priorities without freezing, and stay friendly even when the phones won't stop ringing, you'll do very well here.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for keeping the office running smoothly:

  • Answer and manage dozens of phone calls daily
  • Greet patients and manage patient flow in a very compact space
  • Coordinate with doctors simultaneously regarding rooming, timing, and patient needs
  • Pull and organize patient files quickly and accurately
  • Assist with scheduling while accurately gauging appointment timing
  • Maintain calm, professional communication with patients, doctors, and teammates
  • Adapt quickly when priorities shift (which they will-often)

What Success Looks Like

We consider it a great hire if the person:

  • Balances many moving parts calmly and accurately
  • Takes initiative without creating conflict
  • Keeps patient flow moving even under pressure
  • Is organized, efficient, and friendly-even on hectic days

Who We're Looking For

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Have experience in high-volume, fast-paced jobs (medical office, hospitality, stage management, front-of-house operations, etc.)
  • Are excellent at multitasking and prioritizing in real time
  • Stay calm under stress and don't shut down when things get busy
  • Are detail-oriented with strong timing and organizational skills
  • Have held jobs consistently and show reliability
  • Are friendly, helpful, and don't add drama to the workplace

Backgrounds that typically don't thrive here:

  • Very quiet or slow-paced office environments
  • Roles with long periods of downtime

Schedule & Environment

  • Small, close-knit office
  • High patient volume
  • Dogs are occasionally present in the office
  • Supervisors are direct and high-expectation but supportive if you do good work

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21-$22/hour, depending on experience
  • Employer pays approximately 50% of healthcare costs after being hired on
  • Flexible vacation and time off
  • Strong long-term earning and growth potential
